I am the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), which has its headquarters and main cathedral in New York City.

Recently I have been informed that the cleric known as Father Poimena and the monastery known as Moni Myrelaion at the foot of Mount Hymettus claim to be in communion with the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. They have even posted my photograph on their website.

I would like to assure you that neither Fr Poimena nor this monastery have ever been in communion with ROCOR and are not at the present time. I have written to them requesting the immediate removal of this misleading and false statement from their website and also my photograph.
